Geotechnical Services
Praad Geotechnical
has conducted a wide variety of geotechnical analyses and evaluations for our
clients.
Our specialties include the
following (click on links):
|
|
 |
 |
 |
 |
We provide engineering analyses, including
soil settlement and expansion,
seepage, and slope stability. Praad Geotechnical has performed analyses for the design of deep and shallow foundations, pavement, engineered fills,
buttress fills, shoring and
tie-back systems, earth retaining structures, concrete dams,
caissons, underpinning systems, anchors, shear pins, and subsurface drainage
and dewatering systems.

Praad
Geotechnical provides mitigation engineering of soil-related distress, such as soil
settlement due to static and dynamic loads, expansion of soils, and slope
failures. Our mitigation services include the identification of soil issues with
preliminary site investigations, including a review of technical reports, maps, plans,
aerial photography, specifications and other relevant documents regarding
the grading and development of a site. If required, we conduct a subsurface
investigation with laboratory testing of earth materials. We then perform
geotechnical engineering and geologic analyses of the results to evaluate
the probable cause(s) of distress. We develop repair recommendations,
provide assistance to attorneys in responding to, and the preparation of,
interrogatories, and participate in mediation proceedings, depositions and court
cases as expert witnesses. |

 |
We also have extensive
experience in the investigation of, and analysis and design of landslide
stabilization systems. Praad Geotechnical personnel were committee members for the State of
California that resulted in the publication, “Recommended Procedures for
Implementation of DMF Special Publication 117, Guidelines for Analyzing and
Mitigating Landslide Hazards in California.”
Praad Geotechnical personnel consist of
dedicated registered professionals with advanced degrees, and support staff.
Our personnel are actively involved in various engineering societies and
committees and have published numerous technical papers for geotechnical
journals and conferences.
We also have provided review of technical
criteria documents for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as part of their peer
review program. |
