Praad Geotechnical has extensive experience in geologic field mapping and
subsurface explorations, including conventional soil sampling as well as
continuous soil/rock sampling.
We have performed and supervised
numerous explorations involving small and large diameter
drilling, downhole logging, and trenching.
We conduct in-situ tests such as cone penetration
testing, standard penetration testing, and field density testing (sand cone).
We also conduct suspension logging and
seismic piezocone testing to determine the dynamic properties of soil and rock.
Praad
Geotechnical provides a variety of services related to field
instrumentation. Instrumentation services include pre-construction
surveys, construction monitoring, post construction monitoring, and forensic
monitoring. Our
experiences include the installation and monitoring/observations of:
Our field testing
equipment includes:
-
A slope inclinometer
probe for monitoring lateral land movement
-
Ground water monitoring
devices
-
Thin-walled and California drive
samplers to obtain undisturbed samples in test borings
-
Sand cone equipment to
determine the density of the soil in the field
-
Vane shear equipment
-
Penetrometers
(including a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers field penetrometer)

Praad Geotechnical offers
deep foundation testing and engineering services. These services include
cross-hole sonic logging and low strain dynamic testing for evaluating the
integrity of caissons and piles, dynamic pile monitoring using a Pile Driving
Analyzer (PDA), and dynamic load testing for verification of bearing capacity
and shaft resistance of caissons, as well as energy calibration for the standard
penetration test (SPT).
